BSc (Hons) Psychology with Criminology
The BSc (Hons) Psychology and Criminology brings together our practical expertise in both Psychology and Criminology. This course will provide you with evidence-based knowledge and experience in the fundamentals of psychological theories and issues, as well as a critical understanding and real-world application of contemporary criminology concepts. You’ll gain insight into society and the associated pressures and influences, while exploring what motivates people to commit crimes, the effect crime has, and how it could be prevented. It will also allow you to pursue further education in specialist areas, such as forensic psychology.
You can choose to take an additional Foundation Year before you start your course. This introductory year will help you to develop focuses on developing the key skills required to study at degree level and covers the same six modules as on our law and business other social sciences degrees. The modules covered will initially enhance your communications skills, digital and information literacy and ability to think critically. You then have the added flexibility of switching your degree programme if another discipline captures your interest, subject to availability and entry requirements.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
UK Entry Requirements
- 48 UCAS Points from a maximum of 3 A-Levels, or equivalent qualifications
- GCSE English Language at Grade C/4
You will also be invited to an interview with an academic as part of the admissions process, which will take place online.
Non-standard application route
If you have no or limited formal qualifications you will be invited to complete an in-house literacy test at one of our campuses (for those without GCSE English Language at grade C/4), as well as a formal face-to-face interview. You will also need to provide 2 years of appropriate work experience evidenced by a full CV and one reference.
