You will be building a solid foundation for a legal career, with your training beginning on day one.

In this practical Bachelor's degree course, you'll also have the option of studying overseas, taking one of many different double degrees, and gaining applied legal experience.

In your first year, you'll begin mastering the concepts, procedures, and reasoning underpinning the Australian legal system.

Alongside this rigorous training in the basics, throughout your degree, you'll also be able to pursue the areas of the law that interest you. You'll benefit from a range of specialist law electives as diverse as 'Negotiation and Conflict Resolution,' 'Media Law', or 'Animal Law.'

This freedom to craft a course that perfectly matches your interests and aspirations extends to a choice of non-law electives across the University, and the option of double degrees in fields as diverse as Arts, Music or Science.

PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • All Monash undergraduate courses require you to have successfully completed a minimum of an Australian Year 12 qualification (or equivalent) and achieve the required academic entry score.

  • Total score of a maximum of the best 3 A Level subjects taken in one examination sitting*

  • The official final GCE A Level official statement issued by the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka must be submitted.
    *A minimum of 3 subjects are taken in one examination sitting.
