Studying the Bachelor of Environment and Society is the first step to a career that will address the most pressing global and urban issues of our time, including biodiversity protection, food and water security, corporate responsibility, resource depletion and climate change.

Your studies will prepare you to be an effective agent for the environment and for society, locally and internationally. You may find work with:
- Commonwealth, state and local governments
- consulting firms
- community organisations
- private and public businesses in metropolitan and rural areas
- non-government aid and development agencies.
You may find work as a policymaker or officer, an environmental activist or advocate, a sustainability consultant or manager, a community educator, or an environmental protection officer. You could find yourself undertaking tasks relating to environmental management, identifying community needs, sustainability planning and environmental reporting.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- You must have successfully completed a qualification recognised by RMIT as equivalent to the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) with a minimum average of 70% .
