BSc Economics with Mathematics

On this course, you investigate topics in mathematics, and mathematical applications in economics. Mathematics develops strong problem solving skills that will complement the economics side of your course and allow you to understand the more complex elements of the subject, so that you can examine the decisions of individuals, the strategies of firms and the policies of individuals.

Study abroad

Your education extends beyond the university campus. We support you in expanding your education through offering the opportunity to spend a year or a term studying abroad at one of our partner universities. The four-year version of our degree allows you to spend the third year abroad or employed on a placement abroad, while otherwise remaining identical to the three-year course.

Studying abroad allows you to experience other cultures and languages, to broaden your degree socially and academically, and to demonstrate to employers that you are mature, adaptable, and organised.

Placement year

Alternatively, you can spend your third year on a placement year with an external organisation, where you learn about a particular sector, company or job role, apply your academic knowledge in a practical working environment, and receive inspiration for future career pathways.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

FOR INDIA

Most of our Undergraduate Bachelor degree courses will consider an average of 60% from the best four subjects from Indian high school qualifications. If you achieve 70% in English from CBSE or CISCE exam board qualification, you will not normally require a separate English language test score.

FOR BANGLADESH

Previous university/college study is required in addition to local high school qualifications for our Undergraduate Bachelor degree courses. We accept a number of international qualifications, including the International Baccalaureate with the majority of our courses requiring grade 30 or above, or the SATR with the majority of our courses requiring a minimum of 1100 out of 1600 with 550 in each test.

FOR NEPAL
