Intellectual Property Law LLM
This programme is designed to equip you with an advanced knowledge and understanding of intellectual property law and policy within a domestic (UK), regional (European) and international setting.
It will facilitate learning of both substantive intellectual property law, and the place and role of intellectual property, not just in its legal context but also in its social, ethical, cultural and commercial contexts.
The core courses will cover substantive law on all major intellectual property rights including:
- patents
- copyright
- trademarks
- designs
- common law protection of intellectual property rights
Courses also provide a critical understanding of topical issues and a broad range of perspectives on intellectual property law, practice and policy.

- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
FOR INDIA
In order to qualify for entry to master’s study at the University of Edinburgh, you must have a good degree from a highly ranked university in India.
Entry requirements will vary, depending on the intended programme of study. The minimum score you should have achieved is 60% or more /GPA of 8 on a 10 point scale in your Bachelor's study. If you are studying at an Institute of Eminence or an Institute of National Importance you should achieve 55% or more / GPA of 7.0 on a 10 point scale.
Students from Institutions of Eminence and National Importance will be considered against these revised entry requirements in most areas, but for some high demand areas the University may not be able to apply this concession.
FOR SRI LANKA
As a minimum requirement, you need to have achieved the equivalent of a very good UK Bachelor degree from a good institution. Ideally, you should have a first-class classification in your degree.
