Education BA(Hons)

Education changes people’s lives. It is central to our society and a topic of heated debate. Our Education BA(Hons) is flexible and enables you to develop experience and in-depth knowledge. It will open doors to a wide range of career and study opportunities in the UK and internationally.

You can tailor learning to your own areas of interest. Previous students have focused on areas including primary teaching, international education, special educational needs and disability.

You will be taught by a highly qualified, experienced and enthusiastic team who will encourage you to explore new ideas, perspectives and world views.

Drawing on psychology, sociology, philosophy, history and social policy, your studies will offer you a solid foundation from which to go on to employment, PGCE or masters-level study.

Falmer campus

Our Falmer campus is on the edge of the South Downs National Park, just four miles from Brighton seafront. With around 7,000 students based here, we've invested £60 million in this campus in the last ten years, equipping it with outstanding modern facilities.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

A-level
Entry requirements are in the range of A-level BBC–CCC (112–96 UCAS Tariff points), or BTEC Extended Diploma DMM–MMM. Our conditional offers typically fall within this range.

International Baccalaureate
26 points with three subjects at Higher level.

Access to HE Diploma
pass with 60 credits overall. Level 3 units in communication, numeracy and IT required. At least 45 credits at level 3, with 15 credits at distinction and 30 at merit.

GCSE (minimum grade C or grade 4)
must include English language and maths.

Studied before or got relevant experience?
A qualification, HE credits or relevant experience may count towards your course at Brighton, and could mean that you do not have to take some elements of the course or can start in year 2 or 3. 

English language requirements
IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each element. Find out more about the other English qualifications that we accept.
