Philosophy, Religion and Ethics (extended degree) BA (single honours)

What is the relationship between the White House and the African American Freedom Struggle? How has our understanding of gender and sexuality changed? What can philosophy offer to the understanding of Religion? On this degree, you will cover a broad range of topics that will provide you with the in-depth knowledge and understanding to contemplate questions such as these. You will frequently consider news in the media and have the opportunity to tackle themes that include misunderstandings, understandings and implications of Jihad, the ethics of abortion, euthanasia, war and terrorism, and the environment and how Christian ethics are reflected in the media, arts, literature and film. As you progress through this course, you will develop highly transferable and employable skills whilst tailoring your studies according to you own areas of interest.

The extended degree programmes include a foundation year, which will provide you with a sound introduction to key elements needed for studying Philosophy/Religion and Ethics at degree level. Our extended degree programme will provide you with a thorough and supportive academic preparation for study.
