Bachelor of Architecture and Environments (Honours)

The Bachelor of Architecture and Environments (Honours) provides students who have qualified for or been awarded, an undergraduate degree in architecture and the built environment the opportunity to extend their potential in a research task under the supervision of a member of academic staff.

The honours degree requires an extra year of full-time study. It will allow you to develop a deeper level of academic thought and research in an area of particular interest, identified during your three years of study in the Bachelor of Architecture and Environments.

The award of honours is an avenue by which the best students can be recognised. By its nature, an honours degree carries more weight or prestige than the pass degree. It is highly regarded by employers and other universities.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • To qualify to enroll in the Bachelor of Architecture and Environments (Honours) candidates should have qualified for the award of the pass degree, or a similar degree from another university that is acceptable to the University, and be a graduate of not more than four years standing. Candidates should have a weighted average mark of at least 70 for the pass degree. Before applying candidates should have an approved thesis topic and supervisor. 

Minimum English Language Requirements:

  • A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band.
