Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
If your desire is to nurture and care for sick and injured animals, then the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing is the right course for you. You can make a difference in the lives of furry, feathered and scaly animals by gaining the skills required to work effectively in a veterinary practice. During this course, you will learn about animal nutrition, animal anatomy, biology and the body systems so that you can provide advice on specific animal care and treatment when required.
Veterinary Nurses assist with animal surgery preparation and procedures, pathology, imaging, dental procedures and post-surgery care. This course will provide you with these practical skills as well as the ability to be able to communicate with Veterinarians, colleagues and pet owners regarding animal care and welfare. Upon completion of this course, you will also be able to perform office procedures and reception duties in order to run a successful animal clinic. Part of this course requires you to participate in practical training at the veterinary clinic located on campus.
You will also be required to undertake a compulsory work placement at an approved animal facility, which you arrange with the assistance of your Lecturers. This course will definitely provide you with a rewarding career in the animal industry.
