The Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University offers a wide variety of undergraduate programs across seven academic departments and are home to several leading-edge research centres.

PSW Opportunity

Eligibility for Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP):
Graduated from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Desire to stay in Canada temporarily for work.

Important Note:
Graduating from a DLI doesn't automatically qualify you for a PGWP.

Validity of PGWP:
Depends on the length of the study program or the expiry date of your passport, whichever comes first.

Duration of PGWP Based on Study Program Length:
Less than 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials): Not eligible for PGWP.
At least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials), but less than 2 years: PGWP may be granted for the same length as the study program (e.g., a 9-month program results in a 9-month PGWP).
2 years or more: PGWP may be valid for 3 years.

Completion of Multiple Programs:
PGWP may combine the lengths of each program if:
Each program is PGWP eligible.
Each program is at least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials) in length.

Important Restriction:
You cannot obtain a PGWP if you already had one after completing an earlier program of study.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

SCIENCE PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS
You will transfer into the Honours Bachelor of Science program in the Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University with 5.0 credits (10 courses) toward your degree upon successful completion of the International Year One (UTP Stage II): Faculty of Science (Honours BSc) program if you meet the following requirements:

Data Science (Honours BSc)
A minimum GPA of 5.00 (C) in CP104 and CP164 and an overall GPA of 4.00 (C-)
Completion of a minimum of 10 courses (5.0 credits) in the WLIC International Year One program, including the required courses BU111, CP104, CP164, MA103, EN190.
Mathematics (Honours BSc)
A minimum overall GPA of 4.00 (C-).
Completion of a minimum of 10 courses (5.0 credits) in the WLIC International Year One program, including the required courses MA103, EN190, 1.0 credit from both BI110 and BI111 or both CH110 and CH111 or both CP104 and CP164.
Financial Mathematics and Analytics (Honours BA)
For transfer the requirement will be a successful completion of MA103, and an overall GPA of 4.00 or competitive entry.
Completion of a minimum of 10 courses (5.0 credits) in the WLIC International Year One program, including the required courses MA103, EC120, EC140, EN190 or a writing course equivalent.
Financial Mathematics and Analytics (Honours BSc)
A minimum overall GPA of 4.00 (C-).
Completion of a minimum of 10 courses (5.0 credits) in the WLIC International Year One program, including the required courses MA103, CP104, CP164, EC120, EC140, EN190.
Biology (Honours BSc)
For transfer the requirement will be a successful completion of MA103, and an overall GPA of 4.00 or competitive entry.
Completion of a minimum of 10 courses (5.0 credits) in the WLIC International Year One program, including the required courses EC120, EC140, EN190 or a writing course equivalent, and 1.0 credit from (both BI110 and BI111) or (both CH110 and CH111) or (both CP104 and CP164).

You will transfer into the Honours Bachelor of Arts program in the Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University with 5.0 credits (10 courses) toward your degree upon successful completion of the UTP Stage II: Faculty of Science (Honours BA) program if you meet the following requirements:

Mathematics (Honours BA)
A minimum overall GPA of 4.00 (C-).
Completion of a minimum of 10 courses (5.0 credits) in the WLIC UTP program, including the required courses MA103, EN190.
Biology (Honours BA)
A minimum GPA of 5.00 (C) in BI110 and BI111, and a minimum overall GPA of 4.00 (C-)
Completion of a minimum of 10 courses (5.0 credits) in the WLIC UTP program, including the required courses BI110, B111, EN190.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
The language of instruction at WLIC is English. Before being granted admission into a program at WLIC, you must demonstrate a suitable level of English proficiency. This can be done by obtaining one of the results shown in the table below. Individual band scores apply.
 
Direct Entry
If you meet the direct entry English language requirement and meet the relevant academic requirements for your country, you will be eligible for direct entry to Foundation (UTP Stage I) or International Year One (UTP II). Direct entry includes a non-credit support course called Introduction to our Learning Community (ILC101). This program is designed to be completed in three terms.
 
Integrated Entry
If you meet the integrated entry English language requirement and the relevant academic requirements for your country, you will begin Foundation (UTP Stage I) or International Year One (UTP II) and will take Introduction to our Learning Community (ILC101), two academic courses and two required integrated tutorials to support your academic courses in your first term of study. This program is designed to be completed in three terms.
