Bachelor of Marine Science and Master of Oceanography
This Combined Bachelor and Master (CBM) is a four-year accelerated program for those with an ATAR of 90 or above. The Bachelor component will provide you with a strong academic foundation in marine science, covering both physical and biological aspects and their interactions. The master’s component will delve into the physical, chemical, geological, and biological processes in coastal and deep marine environments.
What makes this combined course at UWA different is our location along the expansive Western Australian coastline. We have access to pristine rocky reefs and beaches along the South Coast to the coral reefs of the Pilbara and Kimberley regions. This diversity creates an excellent living laboratory for studying marine science and oceanography.
In the Bachelor of Marine Science you'll have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning with real-world data sets through fieldwork and laboratory work. In the Master of Oceanography you'll have the opportunity to develop expert knowledge and practical experience that’ll enable you to tackle pressing challenges facing our oceans and coastal areas, such as coastal response to climate change and sea-level rise, ocean acidification, and marine heatwaves – just to name a few!
