Learn how to effectively influence circular city systems from social, sustainable and environmental perspectives, with a focus on the design and implementation of urban environments that prioritise sustainable practices. Apply circular economy principles to urban challenges including public space and cultural heritage, green infrastructure, governance and policy, waste and resource use, and economics and supply chains. In the later part of this course, pursue either an advanced discipline course work or research pathway.

Opportunities to engage with industry allow you to gain invaluable experience while you study, giving you a head start upon graduation.
In the later part of this course, you will choose to pursue a dedicated pathway in either advanced discipline course work or research. Students undertaking the advanced discipline coursework pathway will focus their area of study in either environmental systems, urban life or urban systems. Students pursuing a research pathway will undertake a masters level thesis or research project.

Geelong Waterfront Campus
Located in the heart of Geelong, the Geelong Waterfront Campus has spectacular views of the bay. Used as wool stores in the 19th century, this campus has been renovated to create an impressive, modern space that offers an inspiring study environment. The unique mix of old and new allows for engaging and creative spaces, and its central location means students can visit Geelong’s central business district between classes. In 2019 a new ferry travelling between Melbourne and Geelong was launched. The ferry offers a comfortable and convenient mode of transport. It docks a short walk from the Geelong Waterfront Campus. Train and bus services are also regularly available between Geelong and Melbourne.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission requirements
Applicants are required to have completed at least a bachelor's degree, or comparable, of an acceptable standard from an approved university or other educational institution. Some degrees may have additional entry requirements, which you can find on the course pages in this guide. Masters degrees by coursework that include a research stream may provide a possible pathway to Ph.D. candidature.
