History 2401E (001) - Medieval Europe
This course examines the transformation of European economies, political structures, religious and social institutions, and cultures in the thousand years between the fall of Rome and the European voyages of discovery, and the degree to which ordinary people shaped their societies and affected the course of historical change.

History 2607F/G (001) - History & Civilization of Medieval Islam
The course introduces the main events and themes of Islamic history and civilization and their place in world history. Topics include: Muhammad and the Qur'an, the Islamic legal system, social structure and political institutions, literature, philosophy, theology, art and architecture, medicine and science, interaction with Europe, the Crusades, and trade.

History 2818F/G (001) - Plague and Death from Antiquity to the 18th Century
From ancient 'plague' pestilences to the Black Death to outbreaks in London and Marseille, this course examines the disruption and uncertainty that characterized these disease episodes. How society and medicine understood disease causation, treatment options, and regulation will be examined through the lens of power, class, race, and gender.

PSW Opportunity

If your program was less than 8 months

  •    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

If you started a university program at another accredited school, and you want to finish your degree at Western, you are considered a university transfer student.

You’ll need: 

  • A minimum overall average of 70% (around a B- or 2.7 GPA) as calculated by Western in all previous university studies (equivalent).
  • To have experienced no extensive academic difficulty at university 
  • Proof of English Language proficiency, if English isn’t your first language
  • Specific requirements for your program
