Bachelor of Applied Data Analytics

The Bachelor of Applied Data Analytics is a three year full-time (or equivalent part-time) inter-disciplinary degree that is designed to address a global shortage of graduates with skills in data analytics as applied to high-quality, data-informed decision-making. It is designed to develop inter-disciplinary knowledge across the three base disciplines of computing, statistics, and social science. You will receive exposure to best practice in data analytics as well as an opportunity to acquire knowledge in a discipline that relies on data analytics or deepen knowledge in one of computation, statistics, or social science.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, students will have the skills and knowledge to:

Select, adapt, apply, and communicate advanced data analytics methods and techniques;
Apply data analytics to decision making about policy, business and service delivery;
Examine current issues in data analytics using leading-edge research and practices in the field;
Demonstrate strong cognitive, technical, and communication skills to work independently and collaboratively to collect, process, interpret and communicate the outcomes of data analytics problems; and
Communicate complex data analytics outcomes to diverse audiences.

Our Acton campus is in the heart of Canberra - Australia's capital city - in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). From here it's an easy walk, bike ride or drive to some of Australia's most significant political and cultural institutions including Australian Parliament House. Amongst our modern lecture halls, libraries, laboratories, student residences and administration buildings, you'll find all the conveniences of a small suburb including cafes, bars, supermarkets, child care centres, a newsagency, post office and even a medical centre.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who complete a recognized secondary/senior secondary/post-secondary/tertiary sequence of study will be assessed on the basis of an equivalent selection rank that is calculated upon application. A score of 70% or more with no section less than 65%

Academic IELTS An overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component of the test.

TOEFL paper based test A score of 570 with a TWE* score of 4.5.

TOEFL internet based test An overall score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening.

Cambridge CAE Advanced (Post 2015) An overall score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in all sub-skills.

PTE Academic An overall score of 64 with a minimum score of 55 in each of the communicative skills.
